Morgana Skins Guide

Latest posts by Fredrick Ochami (see all)

Morgana, the Fallen, is among the earliest mage champions in League of Legends. Released in 2009, she has a timeless kit that has gone through relatively few changes over the years—especially compared to champions like Nunu and Sion. Their kits have gone through significant changes.

Her current kit favors a support role, though you can also play her in the Mid Lane. Either way, Morgana is a lot of fun to play, and she is easy to learn. If you can land your Q, which roots the enemy champion, they should receive significant damage from your other abilities (and damage from your AD carry, if you are playing bot).

The Bottom Line

With 12 skins, there is no reason to rock Morgana’s default skin if you enjoy playing her.

Among these skins, Coven Morgana stands out the most. It is a Legendary Skin and changes so many things about her, all for the better. She stands out with her distinct looks in every game and even has Chromas to further personalize her.

However, Coven Morgana is pricey at 1820 RP. For a more affordable skin that you will still feel proud to own, try Ghost Bride Morgana. She looks different enough from the original skin, and the skin will not break the bank; it costs just 975 RP.

Of course, there are plenty of other skins, and my tastes are subjective. So read through them and decide which Morgana skins are the best ones for you.

Original Morgana

Original Morgana

Price: 585 RP / 1350 IP

Release Date: 21st February 2009

Skin Lore

According to lore, Morgana is actually twins with Kayle. They were both birthed by the Aspect of Justice. However, while Kayle, the Righteous, uses her celestial powers to defeat the guilty, Morgana chooses the opposite path. She bound her wings to show her connection to humanity and receded into the shadows.

Appearance and Effects

This is the default Morgana skin. She has black hair, wears a gothic purple backless dress, and has matching wings.

She throws a dark purple ball of dark magic when she uses her Q ability (Dark Binding). With her W (Tormented Shadow), she casts a large dark shadow on a target area. Her E (Black Shield) is a spherical shield covering the targeted champion. And when she releases her ultimate (Soul Shackles), purple shackles emerge from her and latch on to any nearby enemy champions.

How To Get It

As the default skin, you do not have to spend real money on it. Instead, just save up your IP by playing games and achieving objectives, and you can get Morgana for 1350 IP.

Chromas

Original Morgana has three Chromas: Toxic, Ebony, and Pale. The changes are purely cosmetic, but if you do not know any of her skins, they can help.

Exiled Morgana

Exiled Morgana

Price: 975 RP (When Available)

Release Date: 1st June 2010

Skin Lore

Set in an alternate version of Freljord, Woad Tribe has champions who belong to the Woad Tribe.

Exiled Morgana is an exiled battle spirit who has plotted revenge for several hundred years. Every year, she gets closer to her goal of defeating the tribe, including Kayle.

Appearance and Effects

Exiled Morgana has blond hair and orange-white wings. She also has a black marking around her eyes.

How To Get It

Exiled Morgana is a Legacy Skin, so you cannot currently buy it (unless you get lucky and unlock it through Loot). Instead, you will have to wait until Riot Games reopens the Legacy Vault to buy it.

Chromas

Exiled Morgana does not have Chromas.

Sinful Succulence Morgana

Sinful Succulence Morgana

Price: 975 RP (When Available)

Release Date: 2nd September 2010

Skin Lore

What if League of Legends champions took part in a cooking show instead of trying to eliminate each other?

That is the premise behind Culinary Masters. Various champions have different cooking specialties, from baking to grilling.

Sinful Succulence Morgana is the fallen angel of flavor. She prepares terrifying treats that will trap anyone who eats them in their seats.

Appearance and Effects

Sinful Succulence Morgana wears a baking hat, oven mittens, a chef coat, a long skirt, and an apron.

There is not much else to the skin, which feels like a wasted opportunity. The designers could have added the effects of her cookies to her abilities.

How To Get It

When the Legacy Vault reopens, Sinful Succulence Morgana will set you back 975 RP. However, this feels like a skin that needs a rework to earn that price. As it is, I can only recommend Sinful Succulence Morgana if you want to collect every Morgana skin or if you unlock it through Loot.

Chromas

There is no Sinful Succulence Morgana Chroma.

Blade Mistress Morgana

Blade Mistress Morgana

Price: 750 RP

Release Date: 1st December 2010

Skin Lore

Steel Valkyries is a galactic universe where champions have received augmentations from exo-suits that come with godlike powers. There are two skin lines under Steel Valkyries: Dreadnova and General Steel Valkyries.

Vigilantes include Blade Mistress Morgana, Gun Goddess Miss Fortune, and Bullet Angel Kai’Sa. Meanwhile, the Royal Space Military has Admiral Glasc and Aether Wing Kayle.

Blade Mistress Morgana is among the galaxy’s last half-aliens. She used to pilot the X09-Xibalba combat exo-suit. However, she has hidden the suit’s forbidden tech under her skin to help her evade Kayle, her military justicar sister.

Appearance and Effects

Blade Mistress Morgana has pink hair and wears a dress with bladed edges. She also has a gauntlet, and metal augmentations, including her wings.

How To Get It

You can get Blade Mistress Morgana for 750 RP, which is just under $6. That makes it one of the champion’s cheapest skins. If all you are after is a visual upgrade from the default skin, this one is not bad.

Chromas

Blade Mistress Morgana does not have Chromas.

Blackthorn Morgana

Blackthorn Morgana

Price: 1350 RP

Release Date: 23rd May 2012

Skin Lore

In the Albion universe, there used to be immense elven empires. However, they crumbled eons ago, leaving only a few elves.

Blackthorn Morgana is among the Dark Forest Elves who jealously guard evil power that was once the key to their magical superiority. However, Morgana has chained this evil magic into her soul so that she is the only one who can wield it.

Appearance and Effects

Everything Blackthorn Morgana wears is made from leaves and branches. This includes her dress, sleeves, and even her wings.

When recalling, she drops a magical seed to the ground. A plant sprouts up, growing until it towers over her. Then a fruit appears at the top and falls onto Morgana’s waiting hand.

When using her Q ability, the bolt of energy looks to be made up of thorny branches. And when she casts her ultimate, the chains that connect to other champions are also thorny branches.

When she dies, she becomes gray—almost ashen—and turns into leaves that blow away.

How To Get It

Blackthorn Morgana is an Epic Skin, so you can buy it from the store at 1350 RP (just under $10).

Chromas

Blackthorn Morgana has 5 different Chromas: Pearl, Aquamarine, Tanzanite, Citrine, and Obsidian. They offer purely cosmetic changes, but you could do worse for 290 RP.

Ghost Bride Morgana

Ghost Bride Morgana

Price: 975 RP

Release Date: 13th June 2013

Skin Lore

Have you ever wanted to play League of Legends as a mythological being? With skins from the Fables universe, you can. Fables is a mythological world where champions stand for mythical creatures, villains, heroes, or deities.

Ghost Bride Morgana is a weeping bride along the riverbank who constantly looks for her lost husband. When she sees living people, she envies their happiness and takes revenge on them. Because of this, parents warn their children to avoid the ghost bride if they can; if she takes them, no one will see them again.

Ghost Bride Morgana is a reference to the legend of La Llorona, and this skin was released to celebrate the launch of the Latin American server.

Appearance and Effects

Ghost Bride Morgana has blue-green skin, with a matching dress and hair.

When recalling, she sucks up a soul from the ground, then jumps into the air as she horrifyingly contorts her face and screams shrilly.

How To Get It

You can nab Ghost Bride Morgana for 975 RP right now. It’s worth the price for the eerie sound effects and recall animation.

Chromas

Ghost Bride Morgana does not have Chromas.

Victorious Morgana

Victorious Morgana

Price: N/A

Release Date: 11th November 2014

Skin Lore

League of Legends has a staggering player base, especially in competitive play. As a result, the game occasionally provides exclusive free skins to reward the players who have excelled and achieved high ranks.

Players who reached Gold or above in the 2014 season received Victorious Morgana.

Appearance and Effects

Victorious Morgana wears an armored blue dress. The armor extends to her wings and helmet.

When recalling, she wields a glowing gold orb in one hand and a blue one in the other. She then combines them to form an expanding and rotating blue circle.

How To Get It

Despite how cool this skin looks, you cannot get it at any price. It was only awarded to Ranked players who reached the Gold tier or higher in 2014.

Chromas

There are no Victorious Morgana Chromas.

Lunar Wraith Morgana

Lunar Wraith Morgana

Price: 975 RP (When Available)

Release Date: 27th January 2016

Skin Lore

League of Legends has celebrated the Asian Lunar New Year every year since 2011 through the Lunar Revel. The skins also reflect each year’s animal from the Chinese zodiac.

Lunar Wraith Morgana was released in the Year of the Monkey, along with Radiant Wukong and Lunar Wraith Caitlyn.

She appears only during the Lunar Revel to seduce monsters, mortals, and gods. According to legend, she captures their hearts and minds then takes their souls to a purgatory they can never escape.

Appearance and Effects

Lunar Wraith Morgana wears an elaborate red dress, while her wings are gold and green in color. She also has green markings on her legs.

When recalling, Lunar Wraith Morgana looks around, her eyes glowing and her claws bared. She then slashes at the air.

This might not be the champion’s most exciting skin, but it is nowhere near her worst.

How To Get It

You can only own Lunar Wraith Morgana through Loot, for now. Otherwise, your only option is to wait for the Legacy Vault to reopen.

Chromas

There are zero Lunar Wraith Morgana Chromas.

Bewitching Morgana

sss

Price: 975 (When Available)

Release Date: 19th October 2016

Skin Lore

If you like Halloween, The Harrowing is an event you should pay close attention to.

This is an event where the undead attack Runeterra in droves, seeking the living. They travel through the Black Mist and affect Bilgewater more than other areas (this is the murky town from Arcane if you don’t remember).

Anyone the undead kill during the Harrowing becomes damned; as the Black Mist recedes, they are dragged along.

Bewitching Morgana was released in the 2016 Harrowing, along with Little Devil Teemo and Bewitching Tristana.

Appearance and Effects

The red-haired Bewitching Morgana wears a blue dress with a potion bottle and a matching witch’s hat. Her wings also resemble a bat’s.

As she recalls, she summons a cauldron containing a purple bubbling liquid. She removes her potion, pours it into the pot, then picks up a frog and adds it to the concoction. The head of Little Devil Teemo then emerges from the cauldron.

When Bewitching Morgana casts her Q, you can see bats in the Dark Binding. You can also see bats in her other abilities.

How To Get It

As a Legacy Skin, you cannot get Bewitching Morgana right now.

Chromas

Bewitching Morgana has 8 Chromas: Citrine, Meteorite, Turquoise, Tanzanite, Pearl, Rose Quartz, Sapphire, and Ruby. The Chromas just offer cosmetic changes, so it is up to you to decide which Chroma you like best (if you already own the skin, that is).

Majestic Empress Morgana

Majestic Empress Morgana

Price: 1350 RP

Release Date: 26th September 2019

Skin Lore

Immortal Journey is an alternate universe where champions have become Spiritual warriors who wield mighty weapons. They had initially gathered under the gods to test their powers to the limits.

Majestic Empress Morgana was the heavenly kingdoms’ feared sorceress queen. After Irelia sealed away a dragon’s power, Morgana crushed her in combat. However, she discovered that Irelia had hidden this power. Now, she looks for a way to return this power to its owner.

Appearance and Effects

Blue-haired Majestic Empress Morgana wears a gorgeous blue dress with matching sleeves and a tiara. Her wings also follow the same color scheme.

When recalling, she summons the spirit of a golden dragon. The dragon flies around but vanishes. This causes her to collapse in sadness.

How To Get It

Majestic Empress Morgana can be yours if you have $10 to spare. This skin is gorgeous, so you won’t feel too big a pinch when buying it.

Chromas

Majestic Empress Morgana has 8 Chromas: Catseye, Heavenly Crane, Meteorite, Rose Quartz, Turquoise, Tanzanite, Sapphire, and Ruby. The Chromas might just be cosmetic changes, but they do a lot to distinguish the skin.

Coven Morgana

Coven Morgana

Price: 1820 RP

Release Date: 16th April 2020

Skin Lore

In the Eclipse universe, some evil old gods ruled the world. They were slain by an order of esoteric knights who received their abilities from the sun and moon. Now, these gods are preparing for their return, and only the knights can stop them.

Coven Morgana is Queen of the coven. She followed the old gods and felt betrayed when the knights killed them. Her sister, especially, killed the primordial sun and gave its powers to a witch-night army.

Morgana has come back to destroy mankind and return power to the old gods.

Appearance and Effects

Coven Morgana is pale-haired and wears a black dress with armored edges. She has all-new emotes where she can transform into an owl and a new dance.

When recalling, she summons a pedestal from the ground. She touches it, and a red flow of energy flies into her. She then turns into a bird and flies up. The owl lands at the home base and transforms back into Morgana.

When she casts E, you can see the feet of the enemy champions burning. And when she releases her ultimate, her form changes: she wears a mask, and her hands glow red as a red marking appears above her. This form lasts until the ability ends.

And when Coven Morgana dies, she fades into nothingness.

How To Get It

Coven Morgana is a Legendary Skin, which comes at a premium: 1820 RP. If you have around $13, you can own one of the best Morgana skins.

Chromas

Coven Morgana has 5 Chromas: Tanzanite, Ruby, Pearl, Dark Ritual, and Obsidian. Costing 290 RP each, you can buy your preferred color profile and make this skin look even more epic.

Appearance and Effects

Dawnbringer Morgana wears a dark blue dress, has silver hair with a golden crown above it, and multi-colored wings that float behind her.

When she casts her ultimate, her wings all come together.

Chromas

Dawnbringer Morgana has 8 different Chromas: Emerald, Ruby, Catseye, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Pearl, Lifebringer, and Obsidian. They change the color of her hair, wings, and dress, so just pick the one you feel looks the best. All the Chromas cost the same, after all.
