Soraka Skins Guide

Latest posts by Stefan Stevanovic (see all)

Soraka, the Starchild, is a champion who heals allies and debilitates enemies. She is a great choice if you need defensive support in the lane who can harass.

This particular character sacrifices health to restore allies. On the other hand, when she attacks opponents with offensive spells, she can get back a portion of that lost health. So, to maximize her efficiency, you need to alternate between attacking and defending.

Soraka is considered a celestial being, and as such, it has close ties with Bard and some other champions. At one moment, Soraka saved Irelia, bringing her back from the brinks of death. Lighthearted and trusting, she was once deceived and betrayed by evil Warwick.

Key Info Up Front

There are 14 total skins for Soraka, including cosmetics such as Winter Wonder Soraka, Pajama Guardian Soraka, and Program Soraka. Some of these are very jovial, like Café Cuties Soraka (my favorite), but you also can go with a more menacing look with Reaper Soraka.

Given how old this champion is, her base skin looks rather underwhelming. So, if you love playing the character, it is worth investing in some of these, just so you can avoid that basic cosmetic. Anyway, here is a breakdown of all the Soraka skin, their positives, and their negatives.

Default Soraka Skin

Default Soraka Skin

Skin Lore

Soraka came from beyond the Targon mountain range. This celestial being of immense power got fed up watching mortals as they decimate each other. Wanting to cull their violent desires, Soraka roams the world in an attempt to teach them about love and compassion.

Even if a person tries to harm Soraka, this benevolent entity still tries to help them. She sees immense potential within the citizens of Runettera and tries her best to cultivate it.

Appearance and model

Back in the day, Soraka’s jacket would change color depending on her team. Nowadays, it is always maroon, and it spills nicely into her yellow dress. The champion’s onesie covers the mid area, and it has a long rectangular seam in the front and the back.

Soraka has numerous features of a goat, having long legs with hooves and a horn on top of her forehead. The Starchild has blue skin with what seems to be natural tattoos. She also has wrappings on her arms and legs and several citrines on her clothes.

As for her weapon, the champion wields a long sickle ending with a crescent moon. If you look a bit closer, you will even notice ancient runes on the blade. Lastly, it is worth mentioning Soraka’s long white hair. She has bands on two places, keeping the long strains together.

All in all, the basic skins are like most other older League of Legends designs; it isn’t particularly flashy but is enough to distinguish the champion from other characters in the game.

Pros

  • The design is definitely unique and helps distinguish the champion even though Riot could’ve used some other animal for celestial being instead of a goat.
  • The sickle is really nice for base skin.

Cons

  • I never liked Soraka’s design. It somehow always felt weak to me.
  • Her animations don’t pack a punch.

Dryad Soraka

Dryad Soraka

Price: 520

Skin Lore

The Elderwood was always kind to people. Teeming with sylvans, dryads, and fae, the inhabitants of the land, were always curious about mortals. Over time their numbers have significantly dwindled, and most of them have no passion for humans. Soraka is one of the rare exceptions, still looking at these beings with fond eyes.

Appearance and model

The Dryad model flows much better with the champion lore and base design. Now, the Soraka’s goat appearance actually makes sense. It is a part of the Elderwood series (Elderwood LeBlanc, Elderwood Ornn, Elderwood Ahri, Elderwood Bard, Elderwood Gnar, Elderwood Azir, Elderwood Hecarim, Elderwood Xayah, Elderwood Veigar, Elderwood Rakan, Elderwood Rek’Sai, Old God Ivern, Old God Nocturne, Emerald Taric, Old God Warwick).

The designer focused on the green as the dominant color. Instead of citrines, the champion’s skin features a more mundane design. She has a green emerald in the center of the necklace and a few leather details.

Besides the green outfit, the champion also has long, green hair. Soraka’s legs are covered in moss and grass, while her skin utilizes a brownish palette instead of blue. The Starchild’s sickle looks more intimidating; it is made completely out of metal and has a few neat details on the blade.

Overall, it looks better than the base design, it makes more sense, but it probably isn’t worth the investment, especially in 2022 when there are so many better options.

Base animations

Pros

  • Minor upgrade over the base skin.
  • Given that Soraka is a goat, the dryad theme makes much more sense.

Cons

  • Not worth the money; there are better options available.

Divine Soraka

Divine Soraka

Price: 975

Skin Lore

Soraka became a goat-like creature after sacrificing her immortality. Before that, she had the appearance of Divine Soraka.

Appearance and model

To me, Divine Soraka looks like a being from Hindu mythology. She has slightly darker skin, resembling the citizens of the Indian peninsula.

The thing I really like is her new dress. Soraka’s legs are the worst part of the base model, often feeling as if she’s walking on sticks. So, the long dress featuring several shades of blue with pleats is a much better choice. There are also a few golden symbols at the bottom that add to its intricacy.

The Starchild’s shit consists of two pieces: the yellow frontal part that flies almost freely, revealing the champion’s sides, and the red back section that looks almost like a cape. Similar to the dress, golden symbols adorn the shirt. Soraka also has a large golden buckle connected to two lateral chains. Also, she wears golden star earrings.

As for the champion’s face, she looks more like a human. She doesn’t have the same wide, yellow eyes as the base model, which takes a bit from Soraka’s theme, but it isn’t necessarily a bad change. Instead of long white hair, she has dark hair.

The new scythe is very similar to the base model, but it has much more gold. Overall, it is a bit more simplistic.

Pros

  • The human version looks much better than the goat version.
  • The dress is amazing, and it covers the model’s biggest flaw.
  • Overall, the cosmetic looks very clean.

Cons

  • Although it looks really good, it makes Soraka look like a generic character.

Celestine Soraka

Celestine Soraka

Price: 975

Skin Lore

N/A

Appearance and model

This skin is really strange in several ways. First off, the scythe’s blade is covered by an enormous flat crystal which somehow eliminates its purpose. On the bottom end, you have a ball and chain, which look really dope.

As for the clothing, Soraka is completely covered in a white desert robe with red edges. There are nice gold/yellow ornaments on the bottom of the robe as well as the shoulders. The champion has white shin plates with golden pieces as well as golden wrist guards.

The designer retained the champion’s natural blue color. Although most of her skin is covered, her eyes and face look much more polished. She also has a few interesting pieces of jewelry. Soraka wears two necklaces; a frontal one with big citrine and a smaller one that is barely visible. Her black hair is kept in place with a golden, winged band, and she wears a tiara that has a hole for her pin horn.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

Her Starcall spell is a bit more polished, and it looks more dynamic compared to the base effect. Astral Infusion leaves a green ring on the ground, while Equinox has a similar effect as the default ability but with more yellow color. Her ultimate is very similar to the default ability, but it seems like it has more particles.

Animations

Her base attack looks a bit better, a bit more polished, while the champion gets spirited away during the Recall spell. Soraka’s death also looks a bit nicer.

Pros

  • The new effects are always a welcome change.
  • Like with Divine Soraka, this one has a much better outfit compared to the original one.

Cons

  • Her legs look like they’re hovering beneath the dress.

Reaper Soraka

Reaper Soraka

Price: 1,350

Skin Lore

Sinister Twisted Fate has managed to persuade lords of the living to offer Soraka as a sacrifice. Unfortunately, the thing they didn’t understand is that giving away the Starchild would lead to eternal suffering for everyone.

Appearance and model

In a way, this cosmetic reminds me of Ancient Egyptian fashion. Soraka wears a long blue/purple dress that covers her whole body from shoulders to toes, widening at the bottom. The stomach area is a bit altered, featuring funeral wraps instead of the fabric. The champion wears a sturdy belt that, besides her hips, also covers the abdomen.

Her arms are also wrapped, ending in blue, ghoulish fingers and nails. Reaper Soraka has a blue hood with a massive bone horn protruding from beneath it. The champion wears a turquoise scarf that flies behind her as if carried by the wind.

Reaper Soraka carries a chipped, metal scythe that looks as if recently excavated from the grave. This skin is a part of the Death Sworn series (Death Sworn Zed, Death Sworn Katarina, Underworld Twisted Fate, Death Sworn Viktor, Underworld Wukong, Reaper Heracrim, and Death Reaper Karthus).

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

Reaper Soraka’s animations and voice are a major upgrade. She has a deep, sinister voice that fits the theme. Equinox ability is altered creating a blue whirlwind on the ground. Unfortunately, I think that this particular effect is a downgrade.

However, other abilities are much better. For example, Starcall creates a dark blue ring, similar to Equinox, but it looks much better than the default effect. Astral Infusion is also an upgrade creating a visual effect around allies when you heal them. Wish has similar particles but utilizes dark blue instead of yellow color.

Animations

The champion now has a cool, dark blue basic strike. When killed, Soraka’s soul will fly high into the air. When casting Recall, the champion will strike the ground with her scythe, which looks pretty badass.

Pros

  • The bad side of Soraka’s persona.
  • The blue effects are really nice.

Cons

  • You can argue that Equinox shouldn’t have been changed.

Order of the Banana Soraka

Order of the Banana Soraka

Price: 750

Skin Lore

N/A

Appearance and model

This is a great spoof referring to the fact that most players call Soraka’s auto-attack a “banana.” In particular, the designer utilized Chiquita Banana as the focal point. It is a part of the 2015 April Fool’s Day collection (Definitely Not Udyr, Archduke Nasus, Surprise Party Amumu, and Urf the Nami-tee).

As you can presume, the banana was used for the scythe. Instead of the regular blade, the weapon now features a curved banana. The rest of the scythe is pretty smooth, with bright yellow and blue colors.

Soraka’s outfit is quite exotic, combining green and purple. The skirt goes all and way down and has wide pleats at the bottom. The champion has a wide, green apron around the waist with a massive bowtie at the left hip. Most of her upper body is uncovered, with only purple brasier covering her intimate area.

The champion has white/purple wrist guards and a red bead necklace. Overall, her face looks really polished, and you can’t see her horn. Like the last piece, Soraka wears a straw hat, ideal for tropical climate. Like Chiquita lady, the hat has a banana, a sliced orange, and a pineapple on top of it.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

N/A

Animations

N/A

Pros

  • If you like summer and bananas, this is definitely the right skin for you.
  • It is very jovial and relaxing.
  • You can’t see the champion’s horn or legs, both of which are major pluses in my book.

Cons

  • No new animations or effects

Program Soraka

Program Soraka

Price: 1,350

Skin Lore

This computer-generated robot has the sole purpose of protecting humanity. The mechanical entity provides a haven to desperate ones through high-tech solutions. Unfortunately, as a virus penetrates her defense, it is no longer clear whether she is humanity’s savior or a harbinger of death.

Appearance and model

Program Soraka offers a completely different experience. The best way to describe her is as a healing bot. The champion’s whole body is protected by a silver metal casing. Her abdominal region is covered by a maroon battle suit, and she has heavy joint reinforcements on both of her arms.

Instead of the regular spinal cord, she has a reinforced structure. Program Soraka doesn’t have a hair but a set of thick wiring that is closed at the bottom. The thing that you’ll notice from the very start is a luminescent green cross on her chest. The same-colored horn sits atop her head while green tubes go around it.

She also received a scythe upgrade. While the new weapon has a similar shape as the old one, this one is completely made from metal and has barely any details.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

The champion’s Starcall has a green effect, with lots of intriguing particles. Astral Infusion creates a similar green visual that affects both Soraka and her target. Equinox is similar to Starcall, but it also adds purple elements to the equation. Lastly, her ultimate leaves a similar visual as the Astral Infusion.

Animations

Before activating Recall, Program Soraka will type a command into her wrist computer, which might be a Predator reference. When her passive ability becomes active, there will be green cubes on the ground. Her basic animation is also improved by creating a green digital square/triangle.

Pros

  • Overall, a very cool cosmetic. It adds so much to the champion both in terms of base look and the effects.
  • I love the robotic feel to it; the chest cross adds to the overall impression.

Cons

  • I really can’t complain about anything.

Star Guardian Soraka

Star Guardian Soraka

Price: 1,350

Skin Lore

Soraka, a benevolent being from beyond the stars, supports her team from the back, healing their wounds during combat. While she might appear meek, the champion has amazing restorative power, more so than her Star Guardian teammates.

Appearance and model

Soraka has beautiful, curly green hair that looks like a wind. Her hairstyle is probably a Sailor Moon reference. For the most part, her outfit is white with a turquoise skirt. Star Guardian Soraka has a few star decorations on hips, arms, and neck.

As for the scythe, it is a white weapon with a winged blade. A bit star connects the shaft and the blade.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

Starcall drops a star bomb onto the ground, which shatters upon impact. Astral Infusion creates a neat visual effect around an ally looking like something from Mario World. Equinox creates a star whirlpool that ultimately detonates and debuffs opponents. Wish ultimate creates a visual around affected allies.

Animations

She has a special Ghost spell that makes her fly around. During the Recall cast, the champion will dance and strike a few poses. Instead of the regular auto-attack, Soraka has a yellow/turquoise boomerang (a bit different shape from her default attack).

Pros

  • Like all other cosmetics from the series, it is very appealing and colorful.
  • It is especially great for girls.

Cons

  • Wish and Astral Infusion are too similar, and the same can be said for Starcall and Equinox.

Pajama Guardian Soraka

Pajama Guardian Soraka

Price: 1,350

Skin Lore

While other Pajama Guardians were running around, beating each other with a pillow, Soraka was dreaming about marvelous cinnamon pastries. Although Soraka didn’t participate in the fight, she was still very happy to see her friends enjoying themselves.

Appearance and model

As the name implies, Pajama Guardian Soraka wears a massive white pajama on her body. It is created according to its medium, Shisa, having white feline feet and Shisa’s head as a hood. The central area of the pajama is orange, and the champion has a starflower broch around her neck.

On the side of the pajama, there are two wing-like extensions in the shape of waves. Pajama Guardian Soraka has long aquamarine hair that ends in curls (the same color of Shisa’s ears). As for the scythe, it is very different from the base model. It is white with a winged blade on the top. Blade and hilt are held with a massive star.

Besides the fact that this cosmetic belongs to Star Guardian Season 2 collection, it is also a part of the Disguise series.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

The visual and sound effects are the same as for Star Guardian Soraka

Animations

The animation effects are the same as for Star Guardian Soraka

Pros

  • The pajama is really cute
  • Soraka’s aquamarine hair looks great when she’s running.

Cons

  • While the cosmetic looks nice, there are better alternatives for the same price.

Winter Wonder Soraka

Winter Wonder Soraka

Price: 1,350

Skin Lore

Winter Wonder Soraka has an exalted spot at King Poro’s court. She has lots of retainers who safeguard numerous beautiful pets in her possession.

Appearance and model

In many ways, this cosmetic resembles Dota’s Crystal Maiden. The chroma comes in ruby, rose quartz, amethysts, obsidian, and pearl. It is a part of the Winter Wonder collection (Winter Wonder Orianna, Winter Wonder Karma, Snowstorm Sivir, Winter Wonder Lulu, Dark Candy Fiddlesticks, Ice King Twitch, Winter Wonder Neeko, Snow Man Yi, Frostblade Irelia, Frozen Prince Mundo, Poro Rider Sejuani, Frostfire Annie, Snow Fawn Poppy)

The champion wears a long, blue winter dress that has an opening on the center. The dress has white fury on the edges and golden snowflake ornaments. The shoulders are partially uncovered, while Soraka wears fur gloves and hooves’ shoes.

She has long braided blonde hair with a large, blue snowflake pin. The champion has blue crystal earrings, a blue crown, and a crystal horn. Her staff looks majestic, made out of crystal and gold. Instead of the crescent edge, it has a circular blade adorned with blue snowflake crystals.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

Starcall summons a massive snowball onto the ground. The target area will show a snowflake crystal before the snowball falls down. When casting Astral Infusion, the target ally will be enveloped in green mist. Equinox summons a crystal crescent pattern on the ground, after which the enemy caught within the radius will be rooted by ice. Wish creates a turquoise snowflake effect on all the allies.

Animations

During Recall cast, Winter Wonder Soraka creates a crystal behind her back and a blue ice deer in front of her. Alternatively, she will summon a snowman. Instead of the usual crescent attack, she has a similar-shaped strike made of crystals.

Pros

  • Having two versions of Recall is pretty awesome.
  • It completely changes the champion; the effects are simply perfect.

Cons

  • I don’t like the fact that it looks like Crystal Maiden

Dawnbringer Soraka

Dawnbringer Soraka

Price: 1,820

Skin Lore

Soraka came into existence when chaos disrupted the god of order. The champion combines Yasuo’s and Riven’s abilities and cunning. In order to bring down the darkness that was slowly enveloping the world, Soraka dedicated herself to spreading the light.

Appearance and model

Besides Soraka, the Dawnbringer theme also features Dawbringer Yone, Dawnbringer Nidalee, Dawnbringer Karma, Dawnbringer Vex, Dawnbringer Morgana, Nightbringer Kayn Prestige Edition.

This skin is pretty amazing in every sense of the word. It looks like something from a sci-fi anime series. Soraka has a combat suit that mixes turquoise, purple, aquamarine, and gold. She has a feathery pauldron with long nuances hair that partially runs across her chest. The hair ends slowly transition from light blue to orange. Dawnbringer Soraka has a golden hovering crown and gold hovering metal pieces behind her shoulders, somewhat resembling mechanical wings.

The designer did a great job with the scythe. The lower part of the shaft is golden, transitioning slowly into turquoise. The blade is crescent but almost makes up for a full circle. Like the shaft, it combines light blue and golden elements.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

When Dawnbringer Soraka’s passive becomes active, you will notice an arrow beneath her feet, and the ally will also receive a new visual effect. Starcall creates a type of crystal explosion. Her Astral Infusion is slightly altered compared to the default one, but it isn’t anything to write home about.

Equinox will create a magical field in an area that charges a circle outward. Her ultimate, Wish, is perhaps the best out of them all. You can notice that Soraka quickly leaves her body, allowing her spirit to heal the allies.

Animations

When using Ghost, the champion will glide over the field of battle, flapping her mechanical wings. She also has a new spawn animation where she stomps heels onto the ground. During Recall, she holds a wounded spirit soldier and carries him home. Her basic strikes are whiteish with new particles.

Pros

  • Soraka looks like an angel with this one.
  • The skin utilizes a really incredible color palette.

Cons

  • The effects are underwhelming.

Nightbringer Soraka

Nightbringer Soraka

Price: 1,820

Skin Lore

Like her light counterpart, Nightbringer Soraka utilizes the power of both Yasuo and Riven. However, unlike the heavenly version, she embraces darkness because she believes this is the best way to restore order.

Appearance and model

Nightbringer Soraka belongs to the Nighbringer collection alongside Nightbringer Trydamere, Nightbringer Kayn, Nightbringer Lillia, Nightbringer Aphelios, Nighbringer Lee Sin, Nightbringer Lee Sin Prestige Edition, Nightbringer Kayn Prestige Edition, and Nightbringer Vladimir.

In many ways, this cosmetic resembles Dawnbringer Soraka. The biggest difference is the color palette, where Dawnbringer variant relies on light blue and green shades while Nightbringer has maroon, gold, and purple pieces. She has much sharper edges, which is especially noticeable on wings and weapons.

Speaking of weapons, the Dawnbringer piece looks much more complex and, generally, prettier. Another thing that I noticed is that Dawnbringer Soraka has very bright blue eyes that are dripping blue tears.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

For the most part, the two versions have almost the same visual effects. The main difference is that Nightbringer’s are more sinister. For example, Starcall will drop a sword at the center of the radius. Healing spells have dark maroon/purple outlines in addition to green shades.

Animations

For the most part, Dawnbringer and Nightbringer animations are almost the same. The main difference is in auto-attack, which becomes rounder darker. It is also worth mentioning the changes to Recall; instead of teleporting a soldier, Nightbringer forces him to charge into war.

Pros

  • The effects are a bit better compared to Dawnbringer.
  • This cosmetic is for the cool kids who wanted to purchase Dawnbringer but didn’t like the colors.

Cons

  • Regardless of the fact it has better effects, I like the Dawnbringer variant a bit more.

Star Guardian Soraka Prestige Edition

Price: 100 prestige points

Skin Lore

The only way Soraka can unlock her potential is through true love. Luckily, the affection for her friends is more than enough to do the trick. Now, as she’s searching for her lost teammates, she is dreaming of the day when they become a family once again.

Appearance and model

Star Guardian series is one of my favorites, and it works well for Soraka. The champion is fair-skinned, with long blonde hair that ends in orange strands. She has a star crown on her head and star jewelry running down her hair.

The champion’s outfit combines white and yellow with bits of purple. Star Guardian Soraka has winged hooves resembling messenger god Hermes. She has long white socks, a white dress that ends in a yellow skirt, and white gloves with golden edges.

Star Guardian Soraka wields a golden scythe that has crescent wings on the top and a hovering star ornament within the crescent. The cosmetic is a part of Star Guardian Season 2 collection that includes Star Guardian Syndra, Star Guardian Ahri, Pajama Guardian Ezreal, Star Guardian Miss Fortune, Star Guardian Ezreal, Pajama Guardian Miss Fortune, and Star Guardian Soraka Prestige Edition.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

Basically, the same as Star Guardian Soraka. The only difference is in the color palette, where Star Guardian Soraka Prestige Edition has more orange/yellow shades.

Animations

Basically, the same as Star Guardian Soraka. The only difference is in the color palette, where Star Guardian Soraka Prestige Edition has more orange/yellow shades.

Pros

  • Really amazing cosmetic.
  • The hair is probably the skin’s highlight.

Cons

  • Hard to say anything negative about it.

Café Cuties Soraka

Café Cuties Soraka

Price: 1,350

Skin Lore

Except for your belly, the food can also fill your soul. So, whoever tastes Soraka’s cookies, will feel instantly invigorated. Although we don’t know where Soraka came from, everyone agrees that her pastries are out worldly!

Appearance and model

This croma comes in sapphire, ruby, turquoise, tanzanite, pearl, obsidian, Catseye, and peridot. It is a part of Café Cuties series alongside Café Cuties Bard, Café Cuties Vladimir, Café Cuties Sivir, Café Cuties Annie, Café Cuties Gwen.

As mentioned, this is my favorite cosmetic for the champion. There are so many things going on here. She has a pink dress with lots of white elements and a white apron. Soraka has long blond curly hair that almost stretches to the floor.

The champion wields a long white staff that ends with a croissant at the top. To make things better, it seems as if the croissant has a set of white hair.

Visual Effects (VFX) and Sound Effects (SFX)

When Soraka’s passive activates, you can notice a spoon on the ground, while the ally will receive a cake visual on top of their head. Starcall creates a pink visual on the ground with oval edges. Astral Infusion utilizes nice purple and pink colors, leaving a trail of flowers.

When casting Equinox, you can clearly see a croissant on the ground before the spell’s activation. Wish spell pours coffee or tea (you heard that right) on allies’ heads, healing them in the process.

Animations

Soraka uses the standard banana for her basic strike. The only difference is that the animation is a bit more polished, utilizing white, light blue, and pink shades. When casting Recall, the champion will set up a pink table with lots of different stacks.

Pros

  • My favorite skin.
  • The best animation out of all Soraka skins.
  • Gives the champion a completely different gameplay feel.

Cons

  • If you wish to critique something, you can say that the skin is a bit goofy. Then again, that was the point.
