Teemo Skins Guide

Latest posts by Fredrick Ochami (see all)

In League of Legends, Teemo is one of the champions gamers love to hate. The main objective of LoL, as the game is fondly known by its massive gamer base, is to destroy the enemy team’s nexus (the heart of their home base).

However, plenty of team fights occur before that happens. In these fights, Teemo is among the more challenging champions to face. His abilities poison the opposing champion, nulls their damage for a few moments, and he can even go invisible.

But that is not the worst of it. The ability that makes Teemo one of the most fearsome League of Legends champions is his ultimate, Noxious Trap. This ability allows him to place invisible poisonous mushrooms all over the map that explode whenever an enemy steps on them, dealing a lot of damage.

Imagine chasing an enemy champion with low health for an easy kill, only to step on a few Noxious Traps and you are the one who dies instead. This is why gamers do not enjoy facing Teemo. And since I started playing the game in 2011, this dislike has never waned.

Even his skins are a source of controversy because of how cute they make him look, despite the flareups he causes in each match. But, love Teemo or not, he remains one of the most recognizable champions in the game. That is why it is worth taking a look at his skins.

The Bottom Line

The number of skins a champion has usually indicates their popularity. Teemo has 13 skins, which is among the highest in the game. Among his skins, Omega Squad Teemo is a favorite. Based on an alternative universe within the game, the skin has unique effects that make him stand out. However, the skin is his most expensive.

If you want a more affordable Teemo skin, Cottontail Teemo is an excellent alternative. He is cuter than ever, which should get on the nerves of your opponents, and he looks considerably different from his default skin. After reading this guide, though, you will get a better sense of which Teemo skins to go for and which ones just are not for you. I have sorted them in terms of the date released.

Default Teemo Skin

It is essential to start with the default skin to know the differences that new skins bring. First of all, Teemo is one of the tiniest champions in the game. In the universe, he belongs to a race called Yordles, which includes other champions like Tristana, Heimerdinger, Amumu, and more.

In Teemo’s default skin, he is dressed like a cub scout: hat, goggles, binoculars, a blowgun, and a backpack full of maps. Colt ‘Ezreal’ Ham, a Lead Game Designer for League of Legends, found inspiration from his own Scoutmaster friend’s appearance.

Happy Elf Teemo

Happy Elf Teemo

  • Price: 520 RP (When available)
  • Release Date: 17th December 2009

Teemo Overview

  • Teemo is a marksman who relies on the magic damage his abilities provide. His abilities include:
  • Passive (Guerrilla Warfare): He becomes invisible when standing still for a few seconds. He is also invisible when he enters a bush.
  • Q (Blinding Dart): He shoots a dart at an enemy, which blinds them for a few seconds; their attacks don’t deal damage.
  • W (Move Quick): Teemo increases his movement speed for a few seconds.
  • E (Toxic Shot): Teemo’s attacks poison their target for 4 seconds.
  • R (Noxious Trap): Teemo throws an invisible mushroom that, when stepped on, deals damage over time and slows the enemy.

Appearance and Effects

Since this was among the first two Teemo skins on sale, it does not significantly differ from the default skin. Here, Teemo wears a green-and-yellow Christmas hat and a green elf costume. In addition, his rucksack contains red-and-white-striped gift wraps.

Other than that, the skin is essentially the same as his default.

How to Get It

Since this is a Legacy Skin, it is not currently available. However, LoL sometimes opens the Legacy Vault and makes these skins available for a short time. This is not a fixed schedule, though, so you might be waiting months or even years.

Alternatively, you can unlock it through the game’s Loot feature, though this is random.

Chromas

This skin does not have any Chromas.

Recon Teemo

Recon Teemo

Recon Teemo has even fewer changes from the default skin than Happy Elf Teemo. It is a skin where Teemo is camouflaged; his helmet has green camouflage, his face has stripes and markings to help hide him, and that is about it.

How to Get It

Like Happy Elf Teemo, this is another Legacy Skin. You will have to either unlock it through Loot or wait for the Legacy Vault to reopen.

Chromas

There are no Chromas on Recon Teemo.

Badger Teemo

Badger Teemo

  • Price: 520 RP (When available)
  • Release Date: 13th January 2010

Badger Teemo makes the Yordle look like, you guessed it, a badger. But, like the other Legacy Skins before it, it does not have many changes in appearance and virtually none when it comes to effects.

Here, Teemo’s costume has changed to a muted brown, while his goggles now have purple frames. His face is also badger-like, with brown stripes and brown paint covering his eyes, while the rest of his face is white.

How to Get It

This is another skin you will count yourself lucky to get since it is currently unavailable in the store.

Chromas

No Chromas with this skin.

Astronaut Teemo

Astronaut Teemo

  • Price: 1350 RP
  • Release Date: 27th October 2010

We do not see much of Teemo himself in this skin. Instead, he is almost entirely covered in the astronaut suit, from the helmet with pointy ears to gloves, boots, and the layered suit itself. Only his face is uncovered since his visor is open. Teemo also wields a futuristic ray gun, and the mushrooms he uses for his ultimate ability are now rotating satellites.

When Teemo is moving, there are low-gravity animations that make him look like he is on the moon or on another planet with lower gravity than Earth’s. His sounds have also changed; it is like you are hearing his voice through a transmission.

How to Get It

You can buy the skin through Riot Points, though that requires real-world money. For example, 1350 Riot Points comes to just under USD 10.

Alternatively, you can unlock the skin through game events that give you Loot. However, the chances of getting this particular skin are slim, so I do not advise counting on it if you really want the skin and can afford it.

Chromas

Astronaut Teemo has a Chroma skin that adds color to his costume and his ultimate ability.

Cottontail Teemo

Cottontail Teemo

  • Price: 975 RP
  • Release Date: 18th April 2011

This is probably the most adorable Teemo skin. Teemo is dressed up in a fluffy bunny suit reminiscent of the Easter Bunny. His blowgun resembles a flute, his telescope is a carrot, and his backpack is now a basket filled with colored eggs. He also has cute pink spots on his cheeks.

Teemo also hops around instead of running. He bounces around a nest filled with colored eggs when returning to home base as he plays the flute.

When using his Q ability, he shoots an egg. Instead of running fast, he does a quick roll on the ground with his W ability. As for his E ability, he shoots carrots at his target. And for his ultimate, he uses rotating multicolored eggs instead of the default mushrooms.

Despite all these visual changes, there are no changes to the sound effects.

How to Get It

The skin is available for 975 Riot Points, a fair price for all the visual changes you get. So that should be around $7.

Chromas

Cottontail Teemo has 5 Chromas in different colors: purple, turquoise, pink, blue, and white with black spots. To get them, you have to already own the Cottontail Teemo skin. Each Chroma skin goes for 290 RP (around $2).

Super Teemo

Super Teemo

  • Price: 975 RP
  • Release Date: 9th October 2011

This skin is unique because it is the only one that lets us see Teemo’s entire head. Instead of his usual headgear, he wears a mask to hide his identity. He also wears yellow gloves, a blue top with T inscribed on it, blue pants, a red belt, and red boots. He also has a red cape with his T signet on it in typical superhero style.

When using his W, you can hear a superhero-like sound. Instead of walking around, Super Teemo flies the whole way. And as for his ultimate ability, he hurls mushrooms with his T signet.

How to Get It

Super Teemo costs 975 RP, which is roughly $7. You can find it in Loot, though that is always a gamble.

Chromas

Super Teemo lacks any Chroma skins.

Panda Teemo

Panda Teemo

  • Price: 975 RP
  • Release Date: 9th July 2012

With this skin, Teemo dresses up like a panda. This black-and-white full-body suit includes black arms, black legs, a white torso with black buttons, and a white head with black ears.

His blowgun resembles a bamboo shoot, along with his rucksack that also holds his pyramid-shaped Noxious Traps. When recalling, Teemo strums his bamboo and nods along. That’s about it for Panda Teemo.

How to Get It

Panda Teemo is available in the game’s store for 975 RP, which will set you back around $7.

Chromas

This skin does not have any Chroma options.

Omega Squad Teemo

Omega Squad Teemo

  • Price: 1820 RP
  • Release Date: 8th April 2015

After a few years without any new Teemo skin, the developers made up for it by releasing his ultimate skin. In Omega Squad Teemo, almost everything about his appearance changes. He is in green combat attire. This includes a hood, night-vision goggles, a cape, a gas mask, a backpack holding a tactical knife, a watch, and a rifle.

When the game starts, and Teemo spawns, he rolls and looks around carefully, aiming his rifle wherever he looks. He then pulls out his knife, ready for any attacks. Omega Squad Teemo shoots green bullets at his enemies with his basic attack. When using his Q ability, he hurls a knife at them. As for his ultimate ability, he plants mines that blink red.

When recalling, we see the shadow of a helicopter coming closer, then a rope drops, and Teemo jumps on it. The helicopter’s shadow flies away as he arrives at the home base. With all these new visual effects, there are also new sounds that accompany them. Teemo even has new dialogue for all his interactions.

Where to Find It

Omega Squad Teemo is among the most expensive skins for any champion. And at 1820 RP, it costs slightly more than $13.

Chromas

The skin has three Chromas, which change the color of his clothes, kit, and weapons. You can buy them for 290 RP or unlock them through in-game events.

Little Devil Teemo

Little Devil Teemo

  • Price: 1350 RP (When available)
  • Release Date: 19th October 2016

This is among the most tongue-in-cheek Teemo skins and my personal favorite. It turns Teemo into the devil League of Legends gamers suspect he is. He has curved black devil horns, red fur, a sharp tail, bat-like wings on his back, and a yellow crown floating above his head. He also wields a trident.

The technical artists, Jeremy ”JesterCapp’ Putnam and Moonyoung ‘ANDMoonY’ Oh, made two skins in one to show Teemo’s different emotions. The default is his cute smile.

However, when he recalls, his mouth opens to reveal fanged teeth and a long, forked tongue. He laughs maniacally—with his voice deepening until it sounds demonic—and he vanishes into a portal in the ground.

When he appears at the home base, though, he is back to the gently smiling Teemo we know.

When he dies, a vortex emerges and sucks him into it, despite his struggles; the only thing that remains is his crown.

Little Devil Teemo’s Q attack hurls flaming prongs from his trident. At the same time, his Ultimate ability replaces mushrooms with sinister-looking jack-o-lanterns.

How to Get It

Since this is a Legacy Skin, getting it is not easy. Just do not hold your breath; you might be waiting a while to get it.

Chroma

This skin has no Chromas.

Beemo

Beemo

  • Price: 1350 RP
  • Release Date: 1st May 2018

With this skin, Teemo dresses up like a bee. The costume is a mixture of yellow and black, with antennae, wings, a bee-like abdomen with a stinger that replaces his rucksack, and a stick with honey at one end that replaces his flute.

When recalling back to home base, Beemo leaps into the air as flowers surrounded by bees appear below him. He then gets the bees to buzz a mini-hymn.

When Beemo goes invisible, bees appear around him and then vanish quickly. When using his Q ability, he launches a bee at his enemy. Beemo uses a beehive that explodes into a splash of honey when hit by the enemy for his Noxious Trap.

How to Get It

Beemo is available for 1350 RP, which is almost $10.

Chromas

Beemo has 6 different Chromas with different colors. Your champion will always look unique if you can buy or unlock them.

When recalling, he plays the flute, and wind swirls around him. Then the leaf on top of his hat grows big, and he jumps onto it.

When recalling, Firecracker Teemo sets off some fireworks then jumps to a red-and-gold cushion. He collects a gold coin from the air and laughs.

For his basic attack, he throws a red rocket at his enemy. Then, with his Q, he throws a giant rocket. As for his ultimate, he uses a dumpling that’s lit with a firecracker. When an enemy champion steps on it, the dumpling explodes into fireworks.

Chromas

This is the Teemo skin with the most Chromas: 9. They are also more than

simple color changes: Teemo turns into different animals like a raccoon, a fox, a cat, a tiger, and more. These Chromas are well worth the price.

Teemo Skins Guide: Conclusion

As one of the most famous champions in the game, Teemo has a range of skins that will give you a distinct look. They range from simple skins with minor changes to ones with significant overhauls. Unfortunately, you won’t easily find all of them, and not everyone has money to unlock them. However, by taking part in the game’s periodic events, you should be able to unlock a few of them through Loot.

Teemo is an easy and fun champion to play, so even newer players will not feel like they have wasted money by unlocking his skins.
