League of Legends Merch Guide

League of Legends is easily one of the most influential games in the history of the eSports industry. Today, the small game MOD that started way back in 2009 has become a multi-billion-dollar franchise and a great one at that.

One whose greatness rivals iconic titles like its peers and pioneers, including names like the World of Warcraft, DotA, DotA 2, Fortnite, PUBG, and many more. Leagues’ journey from an idea to a masterpiece is an inspiring story in itself, but it is one for another day.

Today, I will be sharing some buying tips and tricks to help all my fellow League of Legends fans and collectors to form their own unique League of Legends Merch Collection. I found League of Legends back in 2016.

It was nearing the end of my high school Summer Vacation, and I had about a week or so left to indulge myself in this fantastic new game that I had just found. Little did I know that that encounter would mark the beginning of a lifelong passion for a MOBA game, a company, and its culture.

League of Legends was my first experience with the MOBA genre. I was coming tired from a background of hundreds of Pay-to-Win games, and the MMORPG genre that I loved dearly was taking its last breaths. The Free-to-Play, Equal-grounded, Skill-based gameplay of Leagues just took me in by surprise, and that’s what actually made me fall for it.

I remember playing Ashe as I played the game for the first time. I saved my Influence Points (IPs) to buy runes and a champion that could breathe fire and transform into a dragon. Once I got Shyvana, I became devoted to her and ground Top and Mid Lanes with my Tanky Bruiser Shyvana Build.

At the time, that was a decent way to play her. After that, the AP Meta took over, and her playstyle and builds were changed drastically. But I love her still and like to abuse her fireballs quite often.

In 2017, the Warwick rework happened. At the time, I had played only a few couples of games on the old wick, but the rework had me excited, and I started playing him from Day 1 of it going live. Since then, it has been more than 5 Seasons, and I have been playing him non-stop.

This passion of mine spread far beyond the game itself and to the company that made it. Riot Games, the developers of League of Legends, did not call quits after giving us a single MOBA game. Their influence and talent are evident by their many successful side-ventures as well.

They have successfully created a whole universe from a single game idea and translated it into multiple masterpieces. You have Songs by Riot Games. Comics by Riot Games. Novels, Music, Board Games, Auto-Battlers, Trading Card Games, and a whole lot more.

All masterpieces, created by Riot Games and linked to League of Legends. Take Arcane, for example. It is a Netflix records-breaking Animated series, which rivals the success of shows like the Squid Games, Peaky Blinders, etc. And it is just a promotion for their main game! Just check out this list of some masterpieces they have created.

  • Wild Rift
  • Arcane
  • Legends of Runeterra
  • TeamFight Tactics
  • Hextech Mayhem
  • Convrgence
  • Song Of Nunu
  • Ruined King
  • Valorant
  • K/DA
  • Pentakill

Man, they are amazing! Anyhow, I will keep on rambling about Warwick and my love for everything Riot makes. So, to put a stopper on that, let us move on to the Merch Guide.

The Deep Lore of League of Legends: Better than MCU?

League of Legends started out as just a game. But today, it has grown into one of the largest universes out there. With close to two hundred playable champions, a whole map, and multiversal connections, the story is as rich as it gets.

From Faes and Yordles to Time Traveling Scrapers, Tanky Blade Wielding Leaders, and Runic Magicians, the League of Legends Universe is filled with unique and legendary oddities. Having read the entirety of the Leagues Lore, I would go as far as saying that it is better even than the Marvel Universe.

MCU is unquestionably one of the most well-written and inspiring universes out there. I would categorize it with the likes of Harry Potter Universe, the DC Universe with its Animated series, and character-rich Universes Animes like the One Piece, Naruto, and sort.

Having experienced all that, I would say the League of Legends Universe deserves a spot on that legendary list.

To test that, Riot Games finally released Season One of Arcane, the Animated series inspired by League of Legends that features our favorite champions. A Netflix record-breaker, the series instantly became a favorite of its viewers.

With such massive popularity and success, it is no surprise that you fell in love with it as well. And came here to find something to add to your collectibles closet as a memoir of this legendary tale.

League of Legends Merch Heaven: Variety, Price, and Quality

LoL

To begin this journey, let us first check out the official merchandise. It is always a great way to support the franchise and its original creators. To make things easy for us, the League of Legends Official Merch Store has a massive, and I mean a MASSIVE, variety of products to choose from.

Every product speaks of its premium quality, tells a marvelous story, and connects you to a champion. I have collected a lot of different merchandise from various shows, series, and games, and I have written about them all. From my experience as a fan, a researcher, and a collector, I would say the League of Legends Official Merch sits in the premium category when speaking of its quality.

While that is true for its materials and build, the Price Range is relatively modest. In my opinion, it is not too high nor too low, it is well-priced. Moving forward in this guide, I will be suggesting items based on my personal preference, price range, and build quality.

If you do not know much about League of Legends and are here looking for a gift for a friend, then make sure to check out my Top 10 picks for The Best League of Legends Merchandise List at the end of this guide.

Four Categories and a Massive Range

The Official League of Legends Merch Store has categorized its many collectibles into four major categories. These four categories are as follow:

Category #1: Apparel

Thresh Glow Premium Hoodie

The Official League of Legends Apparel, much like the rest of their official merchandise, is made in China and Taiwan. The League of Legends Official Merch Apparel Category features five subcategories. These subcategories help you effortlessly locate, preview, and purchase your desired form of apparel from the online store. These Subcategories and their recurrent features are described as follow:

Tops

The Official League of Legends Top Apparel collection features either a chest print, a full front print, or a full shirt print. These designs usually feature a Screen-Printed design consisting of Leagues Champions, an LCS Team Logo, or a League of Legends Seasonal Event Inspired Design.

The Tops are either made of 100% Cotton or 100% Polyester. While a few contain 87.5% cotton and a 12.5% polyester ratio, depending on the top you are getting. You can see this information regarding your specific choice on the item preview screen as well.

Most of the League of Legends Top Apparel comes in 5 sizes. Namely, these are Small, Medium, Large, XL, and 2XL. Besides these, a few of them are also made in Extra Small (XS) size. In terms of the Price Range, most of the Official League of Legends Top Apparel Collection range from 25 to 50 US dollars, making them a relatively reasonable buy for fans and collectors.

Unlike the Bottoms collection, the Official League of Legends Hoodies and Jackets Apparel collection contains many options to choose from. These designs usually feature a Screen-Printed design with a splash of embroidery in some cases. These print designs are often inspired by League of Legends Champions, an LCS Team Logo, or a League of Legends Seasonal Event.

Most of the Hoodies and Jackets are made of 100% Cotton or 100% Polyester. While a few contain a specified ratio of both, depending on the product you are getting. You can see this information regarding your specific choice on the item preview screen as well.
